Video Assist

 

Computer Film Services (CFS) systems offer extremely sophisticated facilities for video assist, whether for live action, high speed or stop frame, all using the same system. These systems allow access to instant playback of all or any part of the "take" and enable a quick assembly of takes into a rough (first) edit while still in the studio. With the aid of video assist, problems or flaws in the image can be identified and subtle alterations made BEFORE the set is broken down.

In a video assist capacity the system enables the planning and execution of shots frame-by-frame or in real-time.

CFS systems were used by Hot Animation in the production of Bob the Builder, the Bob the Builder Christmas Special and the video for Bob's latest single! As well as for a new series "Plugs", an imaginative, even surreal series based around bath toys.

Hot Animation uses the systems as "Animator Assists". They find the systems to be "user-friendly and versatile; the programmes do exactly what we want them to do and the animators feel comfortable using them."
